About the Walk-A-Thon

The Xi Alpha Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is hosting its biannual Walk-A-Thon in the Metro Atlanta community. This event aligns with our programming focus on physical and mental health and serves as a fundraiser for both our chapter and a nonprofit organization dear to our mission. Proceeds will support local community programming as well as an international women’s health initiative.

  • Our event reaches students, alumni, families, and Atlanta community members with a shared purpose.

  • Proceeds support both local wellness initiatives and a global women’s health effort focused on maternal health equity.

Why We Walk

The Xi Alpha Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is proud to host its Walk-A-Thon in support of physical and mental health initiatives at both the local and global level. Proceeds from this event will directly support the chapter’s community-based programming while also benefiting the Fistula Foundation.

The Fistula Foundation believes no woman should suffer or be isolated simply for trying to bring a child into the world. As the global leader in obstetric fistula treatment, the Foundation provides more life-changing surgeries than any other organization worldwide, including the U.S. government and the United Nations. Through global fundraising efforts, resources are strategically directed to hospitals and physicians in regions with the greatest unmet need—restoring health, dignity, and opportunity to women and their communities.

Since 2009, the Fistula Foundation has supported treatment programs in more than 35 countries across Africa and Asia. Every dollar raised through this event plays a vital role in expanding access to care while also strengthening the Xi Alpha Chapter’s ability to serve the Metro Atlanta community.
